This encompasses a range of products including Sharp interactive displays, commercial monitors, digital signage, and video wall installations. The specialist is dedicated to ensuring the success of Pro AV projects by performing thorough pre and post-installation evaluations, delivering technical assistance, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and equipment upkeep. Additionally, this position involves mentoring junior technicians and addressing intricate service challenges through advanced troubleshooting methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage and maintain a comprehensive territory of Sharp equipment, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of Pro AV systems.
- Collaborate with sales personnel to foster lead development and ensure that technical specifications are fulfilled.
- Conduct technical demonstrations and offer training sessions for clients and internal staff as required.
- Engage in company prospect events, technical presentations, vendor partner sessions, and account review meetings.
- Oversee and coordinate Pro AV projects to guarantee timely installations, compliance with project scope, budget constraints, quality standards, safety protocols, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and product insights, recommending solutions based on extensive experience and technical documentation.
- Proactively resolve customer relations issues and communicate any significant concerns to upper management.
- Mentor and guide junior technicians, assisting with special projects or large accounts.
- Maintain an organized parts inventory and implement strategies for optimal inventory control and usage.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and management to achieve branch service objectives.
- Keep the Group Leader or Branch Field Service Manager updated on equipment performance issues and propose resolutions when feasible.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Field Service Manager.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment or copiers.
- A college degree or technical vocational training in electronics or electro-mechanical fields is preferred.
- Possession of CompTIA A+ and Net+ certifications is required.
- A foundational understanding of Pro AV products and solutions is essential.
- Ability to work autonomously, exhibit self-direction, and engage professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
- Technical experience is preferred, with a strong capability for problem-solving and technical troubleshooting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office suite), understanding of technical reporting, and familiarity with maintaining a technical support database.
- Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software products is advantageous.
- A valid Driver's License and automobile insurance compliant with company standards are required.
- Willingness to travel locally, including occasional drives of 2+ hours to remote locations.
- The role necessitates a balance of 50% fieldwork (client visits, site assessments, technical calls) and 50% office work (technical documentation, training, client engagement, and demonstrations).
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel locally on a daily basis to various customer locations.
- Frequent kneeling, bending, and significant use of hands and tools are required. Ability to walk long distances is necessary.
- Regularly requires moving or lifting up to 50 pounds, with the ability to lift 75 pounds on occasion.
- Exposure to live electrical circuits and extreme environmental conditions, including heat and cold.
- Capability to work in confined spaces.
- Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
