Position Summary:

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in managing various administrative and clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of patient scheduling and processing within the department. Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors, ensuring they are informed and comfortable during their visit. Manage multiple communication channels, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly. Process physician orders accurately and efficiently. Handle patient admissions and discharges, maintaining organized patient records.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted as required. Retrieve previous patient records when necessary. Maintain accurate departmental records, reports, and statistics. Manage inventory of office supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for daily operations.
  • Facilitate the billing process by providing necessary forms to relevant departments. Assist in the upkeep of hospital documentation and perform confidential clerical tasks, including data entry and filing. Support the scheduling of patient appointments and departmental activities.
  • Inform patients about necessary preparations for their appointments and follow up to confirm their readiness. Gather all essential billing and insurance information to streamline the process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized waiting area, providing updates to patients as needed. Monitor departmental alerts and respond appropriately to maintain operational standards. Compile data for reports and assist in administrative tasks for departmental projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's objectives.
