We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety and industrial hygiene plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee health and safety audits and assessments, and recommend preventative measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with management to establish priorities and ensure corrective action is initiated in response to safety incidents.
- Provide education and training to management and employees on EH&S best practices, prevention, and hazard mitigation.
- Manage the Worker's Compensation program and compile and submit accident reports as required by regulatory agencies.
- Implement and deliver training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices, promote safety consciousness, and ensure environmental compliance.
- Facilitate inspections of the facility to detect existing and potential risks, and recommend corrective or preventive measures.
- Drive the implementation of strategic corporate EH&S initiatives to achieve corporate objectives, and identify elements of change required to support corporate EH&S strategy.
- Analyze safety processes throughout the company, identify areas for improvement, and recommend changes to work flow, equipment, or other process elements.
- Communicate and celebrate successes to maintain and foster company-wide commitment to safety and continuous environmental improvement.
- 5+ years' experience applying environmental, health, and safety regulations and programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in ergonomic risk reduction and performing risk and hazard assessments.
- Experience with OSHA regulations and reporting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences, or related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) certification.
- Masters Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences, or related field.
- Experience in ISO environmental management systems and safety management systems.
