About the Role

KurzSolutions is seeking a skilled Orthopedic Technician to join our team in a hospital setting. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to premature and ill newborns in a level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Apply and remove casts, sutures, staples, and splints in a clinical setting
  • Assist physicians with back-office duties, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and aiding in minor procedures
  • Adhere to prescription refill protocols
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
  • Perform basic triage according to specific office protocols
  • Recognize and respond to urgent/emergent situations following established protocols
  • Maintain the work area, exam rooms, supplies, medications, and immunizations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as scheduling, filing, and recalls
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Follow employer work practices as described in the hospital's Policy Handbook
  • Collaborate as a team member within the orthopedics department and across other departments
  • Effectively manage job-related stress
  • Document work processes as required
Requirements
  • Two years of recent experience in Orthopedics, particularly in casting
  • Proficiency in applying casts, splints, and braces on patients
  • NBCOT (Ortho Tech) certification or Registered Orthopedic Technician certification
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 immunizations and boosters
