Role Summary:
The Nursing Assistant II is responsible for providing essential patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. This role involves:
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutritional needs.
- Delivering routine treatments while ensuring a safe, clean, and organized patient environment.
- Maintaining the safety and security of patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Upholding patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality at all times.
- Adhering to standard precautions and practicing proper hand hygiene.
- Assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Recording vital signs and documenting pertinent patient information accurately.
- Communicating relevant information and safety concerns regarding patient conditions to the healthcare team.
- Participating in handoff reports and conducting purposeful hourly rounding.
- Providing exceptional service and care to patients, families, and team members.
- Demonstrating competency in specific tasks and skills as defined by Orlando Health standards.
- Maintaining a clean and organized nursing unit.
- Handling incoming calls and patient requests efficiently.
- Transporting items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility as needed.
- Ensuring compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of nursing assistant experience within the past five years, or completion of a relevant training program
Licensure/Certification:
Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification is required.
Experience:
One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting within the past five years is preferred, although graduates of approved nursing programs may not require prior experience.
