Director of Human Resources

Milton's Distributing is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead our human capital initiatives within a dynamic distribution and logistics environment. As a pivotal member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be instrumental in developing and executing strategies that enhance our workforce and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive human resources strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure HR initiatives support overall business goals.
  • Design and implement an organizational framework that promotes growth and scalability.
  • Manage employee benefits evaluations and oversee the HR financial plan.
  • Establish a robust communication strategy for employee engagement.
  • Review and refine HR policies and operational processes.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Identify and attract high-caliber talent through a strategic recruitment process.
  • Create effective onboarding experiences and articulate clear job roles.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices in recruitment and compensation.

Performance Management and Career Development:

  • Enhance employee retention strategies and career progression opportunities.
  • Develop and implement training initiatives to boost both individual and organizational performance.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations and performance management.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Establish metrics for evaluating and rewarding employee competencies.
  • Design recognition programs and ensure competitive compensation packages.
  • Inform employees about compensation structures and benefits offerings.

Employee Relations:

  • Ensure adherence to employment regulations and standards.
  • Monitor employee relations indicators and enforce workplace policies.
  • Address employee grievances and manage Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS):

  • Assess and enhance HRIS for optimal performance.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships and contracts related to HR services.

Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
  • Develop strategies to safeguard employees and mitigate risks.
  • Educate staff on safety procedures and protocols.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years in HR leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in executing effective HR programs.
  • Strong communication abilities and a strategic approach to HR.
  • Familiarity with talent optimization technologies is advantageous.
