Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves the upkeep and repair of machinery and mechanical systems, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(This list is not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned.)

1. Monitors packaging and processing machinery to identify malfunctions.
2. Executes necessary repairs and replaces defective components.
3. Conducts various electrical and mechanical tests to pinpoint issues.
4. Analyzes automated process systems to address quality concerns in products.
5. Collaborates with machine operators to ensure optimal equipment performance.
6. Installs and repairs specialized parts within automated systems.
7. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on all machinery and facilities.
8. Initiates orders for required parts and equipment.
9. Conducts electrical installations and repairs as needed.
10. Operates and maintains plant boilers and HVAC systems.
11. Provides mechanical support across departments to resolve daily maintenance challenges.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

1. Completion of a one-year certificate program from a technical school, or 3-5 years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience.
2. Demonstrates mechanical and electrical skills and a commitment to ongoing education through on-the-job training and technical courses.

Essential Skills

1. Proven experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance tasks.
2. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
3. Ability to perform all essential duties effectively.
4. Competence in reading and comprehending technical manuals.
5. Proficient in presenting information in both individual and small group settings.
6. Capable of performing basic mathematical operations and interpreting data.
7. Ability to apply logical reasoning to follow instructions in various formats.
8. Skillful in addressing problems with multiple variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. Exposure to hot, humid, and wet conditions; fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles may occur.
2. Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces using various tools and equipment.
3. Hearing protection is typically required due to noise levels.
