Purpose of Position

This role is responsible for designing and developing software solutions for visual systems integration and simulation of systems external to the aircraft. The successful candidate will be responsible for simulating or stimulating avionics, infrastructure, and aircraft environment, including providing the interface to the visual system.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in C++ and other relevant programming languages. They will be responsible for product development from design phase to hardware integration phase, customer and certification authority verification, and ongoing customer support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement software solutions for visual systems integration and simulation of systems external to the aircraft.
  • Simulate or stimulate avionics, infrastructure, and aircraft environment, including providing the interface to the visual system.
  • Responsible for product development from design phase to hardware integration phase, customer and certification authority verification, and ongoing customer support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software and hardware engineers, technicians, project engineers, and program managers.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in Project Server for assigned projects.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, work varying shifts, and perform special work hours as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in simulation, preferably in software development.
  • Strong background in C++ and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with virtual/augmented/mixed reality projects or technologies.
  • Familiarity with game or graphics programming, including Unreal, Unity, OpenGL, Direct3D, and GLSL.
  • Strong geometry and mathematics capability.
  • Experience with OpenVR, OpenXR, or other VR SDKs.
  • Desktop aviation simulation experience, including X-Plane, Prepar3D, and MSFS 2020.
  • UI design and implementation skills in various technologies.
  • 3D modeling and animation skills.
  • Camera systems experience.
  • Electronic flight information system (avionics) development experience.
  • Design patterns and/or multi-threading experience.
  • Reading and using technical specifications.
  • Lean/Agile software development experience.
