About the Role

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team in the Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to executive and senior leaders to drive cultural change and improve safety performance outcomes.
  • Influence strategy development and champion the health and safety agenda to manage safety risks in a complex environment.
  • Mentor and develop staff safety capabilities and competencies.
  • Supervise and guide the day-to-day activities of the safety coordinator to ensure quality deliverables.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and experience in OHS legislation, compliance codes, and regulations.
  • Relevant industry experience in occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying OHS risks and developing preventative strategies.
  • Expertise in consulting with senior leaders and managers in health and safety initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering cultural change in health, safety, and wellbeing.
Qualifications
  • Suitably qualified person with a minimum of diploma in occupational or workplace health and safety.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience is desirable.
  • A full and current driver's license is required.
