Key Responsibilities
  • Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with property owners and public agencies to ensure effective pruning and removal of trees and brush.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct thorough tree and brush inventories to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Hazard Tree Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify and evaluate potential hazards to power lines and surrounding communities.
  • Work Planning: Plan and coordinate work with tree contractors to ensure efficient and effective execution of projects.
  • Data Management: Manage and analyze data to inform decision-making and optimize vegetation management strategies.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area, enforcing on-the-job safety practices and protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and service company vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A degree in forestry or a related field, or equivalent experience in utility line clearance.
  • Species Identification and Knowledge: Strong species identification skills, invasive species knowledge, and understanding of tree growth rates.
  • Certification: Ability to obtain ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Driver's License and Clean Record: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Communication and Customer Service Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Travel and Physical Demands: Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather, with proficiency in map navigation skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and data collection software, with experience in GIS a plus.
