About the Role:
- The Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the Director of Human Resources, aligning business goals with employee and management needs within designated units. This position acts as a consultant on various Human Resource matters.
- The ideal candidate will serve as an advocate for employees and a catalyst for change, proactively assessing and anticipating HR-related requirements. They will communicate these needs effectively with the HR department and management, striving to develop integrated solutions.
- This role will cultivate partnerships across the HR function to provide value-added services to both management and employees, reflecting the organization's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement training programs focused on Human Resource practices.
- Support the Director of Human Resources in managing employee relations and conducting investigations.
- Oversee compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, and performance assessments.
- Manage the recruitment process, including interviewing and hiring qualified candidates for open positions, in collaboration with departmental managers to identify necessary skills and competencies.
- Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and employee recognition initiatives.
- Administer and execute various human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, dispute resolution, performance management, and training and development.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Communication, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of five years of progressive experience in Human Resources is essential.
- Experience in employee relations, investigations, and labor relations is necessary.
- SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred.
- Ability to independently investigate, recommend, and resolve employee relations issues is crucial.
- Must remain informed about recent changes in federal, state, and case law and understand their implications for HR practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and follow up with all organizational levels, are essential.
