Fiber Optic Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Fiber Optic Technician to become part of our expanding team. The Fiber Optic Technician will be tasked with the installation and upkeep of fiber optic cabling in various environments, both outdoors and indoors. We value individuals who are confident leaders yet also excel in independent work, possessing a solid understanding of the telecommunications construction sector.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Diagnose, repair, and install fiber optic systems to ensure optimal functionality
• Inspect and replace outdated or defective fiber optic cables
• Organize and execute scheduled maintenance activities
• Handle fiber splicing and address issues within fiber optic networks
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system records and designs
• Collaborate with team members to ensure productivity and adherence to safety protocols
• Prioritize and coordinate tasks effectively
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and plans
• Represent Congruex LLC professionally and positively at all times
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all assigned company vehicles and equipment
• Perform duties in both standard and high-risk environments
• Execute responsibilities safely and efficiently throughout the year
• Fulfill physical tasks necessary for daily operations
• Travel to various job sites as required

Essential Skills:

• Comprehend all installation aspects of underground and aerial facilities, including blueprints and schematics
• Minimum of 1 year of recent splicing experience
• Valid Driver's License (unrestricted)
• Basic computer proficiency
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
• Ability to operate all equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with crew, management, and clients
• Work effectively as a key member of a team
• Meet physical demands - lift and/or move 50 to 150 pounds and navigate lengthy distances (1+ miles) over uneven terrain
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with single & ribbon splicing techniques
• Experience with testing equipment such as OTDR, IOLM, OLTS
• Knowledge of Fosc & Coyote enclosures
• Experience in data center splicing
• Proficiency with bucket trucks and confined space operations
