Position Type: Part-Time
Summary: The Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting educators by providing one-on-one or small group tutoring, as well as direct care and supervision of students within a classroom environment. This position is essential for maintaining an organized and effective learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering instructional material to students.
- Prepare and manage classroom resources, including attendance logs and student documentation.
- Facilitate learning by reinforcing concepts for individuals or small groups.
Work Schedule: 4 hours per day, 5 days a week
Compensation: $24.21 per hour, with salary placement determined by experience.
Benefits: Eligible employees working 4 or more hours daily may receive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Life Insurance, with full district contributions for those working 6 or more hours.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience working with students in educational settings is preferred.
- Successful completion of a competency examination is necessary.
Licenses and Certifications: A valid driver's license may be required, along with an approved competency examination and potentially a First Aid/CPR certification.
Required Documentation:
- NCLB Compliance (48 college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
- Proof of High School Graduation (Diploma or Transcripts)
