Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Vighter Medical Group is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the accuracy of medical imaging procedures.

Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing a range of radiological procedures, including angiography, venography, and fluoroscopic studies. You will work closely with Interventional Radiologists to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and that imaging procedures are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform radiological procedures, including angiography, venography, and fluoroscopic studies, under the direction of an Interventional Radiologist.
  • Ensure that all necessary setups, such as biopsy trays and interventional trays, are prepared and in conformance with strict sterile techniques.
  • Perform common exams, including biopsies, drainages, stent placement, angiograms with interventions, CO2 angiography, balloon angioplasty, arteriovenous (AVF) procedures with interventions, EVAR (AAA endograft procedures), tunneled HD catheters (placement and removal), PICC line placement/removal, venograms, venous procedures, IVC filter placement/removal, embolization's, and port placement/removal.
  • Adhere to 2024 National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) standards/guidelines.
  • Continuously monitor patient condition and other disorders, and take immediate action to prevent harm to the patient or equipment.
  • Ensure that all documentation required for the completion of exams is done in VISTA CPRS.
  • Validate all images and correct incorrect information prior to sending to VISTA for interpretation by the Radiologist.
  • Help maintain effective control for the Radiology Department by coordinating, organizing, and executing work to expedite workflow patterns with the department.
  • Work with Medical Support Staff to schedule and prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures to patients while performing studies.
  • Obtain pertinent diagnostic examinations for the ordering provider.
  • Correlate the clinical history with the test to be performed.
  • Maintain records and files of exams performed on patients, including patient registration and editing of patient exams in the computerized information system.
  • Properly identify patient images to prevent mistaken identity.
  • Confirm patient identity by verbally confirming patient name and social security number.
  • Explain exams to competent patients so that patients understand what is to be done and what hazards, if any, are possible.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum two-year experience in specialty.
  • ARRT (R) and additional advanced certification by ARRT in another imaging modality.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Valid, unrestricted license in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S and/or certification as required.
