Position Summary:

The primary focus of this role is to evaluate the creditworthiness of various fixed income debt issuers, particularly those associated with municipal and non-profit sectors. Additionally, the analyst will support the assessment of other asset classes, which may encompass corporate bonds, structured securities, or alternative investments. This position also involves enhancing the investment research methodology and framework, along with the potential to mentor interns and new analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough analysis of municipal debt issuers across diverse sectors in both primary and secondary markets.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive credit evaluations, including issuer profiles, industry and competitive assessments, financial statement reviews, relative value analyses, and other pertinent information derived from qualitative and fundamental factors.
  • Monitors current portfolio holdings and aids in the upkeep of the research database.
  • Provides buy, sell, and hold recommendations to portfolio managers, both verbally and in written form, within a relative value context.
  • Assists in the evaluation of other transactions and issuers across different asset classes.
  • Performs quarterly assessments of various private debt and private equity investments.
  • May contribute to the training and development of interns and new analysts.
  • Engages in the enhancement of the investment research process and framework.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in credit research, trading, industry analysis, financial research, or a related area.
  • Relevant coursework and internship experience will be taken into account.
  • CFA/MBA or a commitment to pursue is required.
  • Experience in the specific asset class is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, and Python is a plus.
  • The selected candidate will follow a hybrid work schedule, necessitating regular attendance at the Chicago office.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $81,400 and $138,900. When determining offers, we consider various factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
