At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we're seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Playcenter Attendant. As a key member of our youth development team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children aged three months to twelve years.
Job Summary:The Playcenter Attendant will be responsible for providing care, leading activities, and ensuring the safety of children in our Play Center. This role requires a strong commitment to child safety, youth development, and high member engagement.
Responsibilities:- Provide care and supervision to children in the Play Center
- Lead activities and programs that promote learning and development
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding child care and activities
- Maintain a clean and organized Play Center environment
- Collaborate with other staff members to achieve program goals and objectives
- Must be at least 16 years of age and have experience working with youth in a structured setting
- Complete all required trainings prior to start; must obtain CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment
- A working knowledge of computers, including MS Word and MS Excel, is preferred
- Exemplify YMCA ideals, character values, leadership qualities, and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and manage time effectively
- Ability to supervise and interact with children in a professional and caring way
- Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
The Playcenter Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with children, parents, and staff members. The role requires standing, bending, and lifting up to thirty pounds, as well as the ability to change diapers.
