Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facility Operations Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, performing routine maintenance duties, and assisting with the execution of our preventative maintenance program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment, and vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
    • Fix wall and/or floor coverings, repair furniture and fixtures, perform basic plumbing work, and minor electrical repairs.
    • Repair appliances, paint, and refurbish projects as assigned.
  • Preventative Maintenance
    • Assist in the execution of the preventative maintenance program to ensure the longevity of our facilities.
    • Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, pumps, refrigeration systems, motors, fans, electrical systems, and emergency generators.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance
    • Perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance.
    • Perform deep cleaning and resident suite 'make ready' rooms as assigned.
  • Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness
    • Assist with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.

Requirements

  • Education
    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Technical school education preferred.
  • Experience
    • One (1) year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Skills
    • Basic technical knowledge (such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and code compliance) and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Basic knowledge of construction principles.
    • General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life, and safety regulations.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
