Role Summary:
We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Senior Executive (VP Level) to guide our Embedded Software Engineering Team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in software development and leadership, particularly in embedded systems that manage intricate data flows and packet processing. This position demands a profound knowledge of embedded software engineering, multi-core architectures, and the capability to lead a team across various time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Oversight: Direct and manage a team of around 10 software engineers, promoting a collaborative and innovative culture. Ensure effective personnel management and project supervision across different time zones.
  • Embedded Software Development: Supervise the creation and execution of embedded software, emphasizing data flow efficiency and the smooth transmission of packets through the system.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide active leadership, dedicating approximately 30% of your time to technical tasks, including coding, code evaluations, and resolving intricate technical challenges.
  • Integration & Optimization: Guarantee the successful integration of software and hardware components, enhancing the performance of data paths across multi-core, multi-chipset systems.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside cross-department teams to ensure seamless project execution, keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements in embedded systems.
  • Innovation & Troubleshooting: Foster innovation within the team, identifying and addressing complex technical issues related to embedded software development.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on software development experience, ideally in embedded systems or related fields.
  • Management Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading a team of software engineers, with proven success in managing teams across multiple time zones.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in embedded, real-time C programming, with a strong background in developing software for multi-core, multi-chipset systems. Experience with software data flows and packet processing is crucial.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Must be an engaged leader, actively participating with the engineering team on technical matters and maintaining a strong involvement in coding and problem resolution.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to lead, motivate, and collaborate effectively with cross-department teams.
  • Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the Linux kernel and hardware register programming is advantageous.
