Position Summary:


The Advanced Nurse Anesthetist Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality anesthesia care to a diverse patient demographic, spanning from pediatric to geriatric populations, who require various surgical, obstetric, and anesthesia interventions.

This role involves utilizing advanced skills acquired through extensive training, education, and experience to cater to patients with intricate and specialized anesthetic needs.


The specialist primarily operates within Community Medical Centers, while also providing essential coverage to other medical facilities, Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs), Hospital Outpatient Departments (HOPDs), and a Tertiary Medical Center that offers Multispecialty Trauma Services and multiple Non-operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) locations as directed by the Anesthesia Leadership.


This position is designed for a team member who primarily engages with a Tertiary Medical Center featuring Multispecialty Trauma Services and various NORA sites, without involvement in at least one Anesthesia Specialty such as Complex NORA (including Electrophysiology, Catheterization Lab, and Radiology), Cardiac, Neuro, or Neonatal anesthesia.

The role includes taking on-call responsibilities from home as part of the facility scheduling model (with call exemptions subject to leadership discretion) and may require floating to other facilities based on staffing demands.

All team members are expected to practice within the complete scope of their CRNA privileges.

Educational Requirements:

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or equivalent graduate diploma level certification is mandatory. Graduation from both an Accredited School of Nursing and a School of Nurse Anesthesia is required.

Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and recognition by the state of practice as a CRNA is essential.

Compliance with minimum continuing education requirements every four years as stipulated by the NBCRNA is also required.

Experience:
Prior experience is not a prerequisite. A four to six-week orientation period for new graduates (working alongside a preceptor) is mandatory. The orientation duration for experienced practitioners will be contingent upon prior experience and clinical competencies.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Valid RN licensure in the appropriate state is required.

Current CRNA endorsement in the relevant state is necessary.

NBCRNA certification is required.

ACLS certification in accordance with NH policy is required.

BLS certification in accordance with NH policy is required.

PALS certification in accordance with NH policy is required.

Essential Skills:
A comprehensive understanding of contemporary anesthetic agents, techniques, medications, and equipment is crucial.

Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to adapt the anesthetic care plan according to patient age.


Must demonstrate significant ability to make independent decisions, often under pressure, while maintaining a professional demeanor with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
