Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

This dynamic role involves overseeing and guiding all material handlers, as well as mold set-up technicians at various levels. The individual in this position will coordinate and uphold all operations related to the material handling system, ensuring adherence to established processes and protocols. Responsibilities also encompass managing inventories of resins and colorants, scheduling mold changes, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the workspace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide hands-on leadership and support in all facets of material handling and mold change operations.
  • Supervise personnel assigned to the area, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Adapt to new methodologies and procedures while effectively leading and training team members.
  • Conduct training for all new material handlers and mold set-up technicians, ensuring they are well-versed in operational processes.
  • Monitor and enforce safety and production standards within the department.
  • Communicate effectively with team members across shifts to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to meet departmental expectations.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments of materials and regrind as necessary.
  • Assume the responsibilities of senior tech supervisor in their absence.
  • Uphold company policies and safety regulations, ensuring all team members are informed and compliant.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the company’s core values: Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED, along with ten years of relevant experience in injection molding.
  • In-depth knowledge of the injection molding process, including materials, molds, and machinery.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide a team towards achieving specific goals.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems is advantageous. Certifications in relevant training programs are also beneficial.
