Job Title: Material Handler

Job Summary:

The Material Handler will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production process. This individual will be responsible for managing inventory, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and collaborating with team members to achieve production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement the MATTEC schedule to ensure timely material changes and color changes.
  • Monitor and maintain a sufficient supply of materials for assigned machines.
  • Keep the assigned area clean and organized, including the injection unit of assigned machines.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move completed pallets of Finished Goods and WIP to staging areas.
  • Perform color changes and material changes in a timely manner with minimal downtime and waste.
  • Blend materials as required, taking into account the total amount of material needed for a production run and the proper let downs.
  • Ensure that regrind is being utilized whenever possible in the proper ratio.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective changes.
  • Notify the Supervisor and/or Set-up Technician of any material problems.
  • Comply with the Clean Sweep program to prevent plastic pellets from entering storm drains.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Valid class C license for forklift certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Injection Molding Resins.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PPE Requirements:

  • Safety glasses.
  • Utility gloves.
  • Steel-toe slip-resistant shoes.
  • Hardhat.
  • Hearing protection (e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs).
  • Face shields.
  • Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.
