In this role, you will provide support services related to the enforcement of agricultural or weights and measures laws and agricultural pest control.

Key responsibilities include assisting with programs to prevent the spread of weeds or plant diseases, placing, inspecting, and maintaining pest detection traps, performing pest surveys, and assisting with testing and sealing commercial scales, weights, measures, and meters.

To be successful in this position, you will have knowledge of basic record keeping techniques, principles and practices of customer service, and the ability to learn basic insects and plants related to the area of assignment.

You will also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make simple explanations of policy, procedure, and law to the general public.

We are committed to maintaining a drug and alcohol free workplace, and all persons selected for appointment must pass a medical examination and a drug test administered by the County at no cost to the applicant.

This is a temporary full-time position, requiring travel in an assigned area, working in all types of weather conditions, weekends, holidays, and non-routine hours.
