Job Title: Construction Site Operations Manager

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year.

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Site Operations Manager to join our team at ZipRecruiter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, with experience in project layout, excavation, and site management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project plans, specifications, and estimates to ensure accurate execution. They will also be responsible for marking out and calling in DigSafes, setting up dozers, excavators, and GPS rovers, and providing layout assistance to crews.

The job requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The successful candidate will also have experience with Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and estimates to ensure accurate execution
  • Mark out and call in DigSafes
  • Set up dozers, excavators, and GPS rovers
  • Provide layout assistance to crews
  • Track use of aggregate materials on a project and compare to estimate
  • Review upcoming material needs for projects and work with PM to ensure materials are on site and ready for use
  • Assist crews with establishing missing grading information
  • Provide technical assistance to foreman on means & methods to help assure efficient construction processes
  • Monitor project safety by working with the foreman to identify high-risk activities and planning to prioritize safety during the identified activities
  • Facilitate toolbox talks with crews
  • Assist foreman/crews in interpreting design/drawings that are complicated or lacking information
  • Monitor actual productions/costs vs budgeted productions/cost and help facilitate that daily production quantities are being entered in HJ time cards
  • May supervise, direct, and mentor project staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met
  • Assist in representing the company during client and project management meetings to ensure effective communication
  • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
  • Develop as-built drawings for project closeouts for review by the project manager
  • Help with quantity takeoffs for estimating as needed
  • Identify and help facilitate areas of training for crew
  • Monitor pit floor elevations, provide end of fiscal year bank and stockpile quantities
