Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team at eTeam Inc. As an Environmental Services Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, departments, and common areas, including bathrooms, walls, windows, doors, floors, and carpets.
  • Empty trash, waste baskets, and linen hampers, and transport soiled linens according to department standards.
  • Clean and maintain trash chute room floors, walls, and vents.
  • Assist with distribution and storage of supplies.
  • Safely and securely handle and transport medical waste, ensuring medical waste storage areas are secured at all times.
  • Recognize, comprehend, and follow the meaning and direction of designated signs, symbols, and written instructions.
  • Clean and organize janitor closet per department and regulatory standards, ensuring the janitor closet is locked and secured at all times.
  • Use chemicals in a safe manner, using dispensers correctly to fill labeled bottles and containers with the correct chemicals at all times as trained.
  • Participate in the training of new employees and offer guidance, assistance, and direction to less experienced personnel.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, speak, understand, and follow written and verbal directions in English with a basic range of comprehension sufficient for understanding job-specific forms, documents, signs, symbols, and written instructions.
  • Recognize and comprehend emergency and urgent situations and be able to react and communicate so others understand.
  • Ability to work well with others, follow instructions, and schedule flexibility due to the needs of the hospital.
  • Lead EVS Tech must exhibit leadership skills and be able to oversee the work of peers and effectively communicate with team members and all levels of management in the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to write in English.
  • Basic computer skills to include the ability to utilize an email program and complete computer-based training courses with minimal assistance.
  • Previous hospital and/or hospitality housekeeping experience.
  • Experience with the operation of a variety of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, extractors, bovac, roto.
