Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the operational, inspection, and maintenance activities related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for all production machinery and infrastructure within the organization.

This position entails the installation and repair of sophisticated manufacturing equipment. The specialist is responsible for assessing equipment functionality and executing preventative maintenance tasks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Additionally, this role may involve mentoring and assisting less experienced technicians. The specialist will diagnose equipment failures and perform complex repairs or adjustments as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct preventative maintenance on advanced production machinery.
• Execute repairs on sophisticated manufacturing equipment as required.
• Perform breakdown analysis to identify root causes.
• Supervise or carry out general housekeeping and upgrade production lines with new or enhanced equipment/technology.
• Direct the activities of external contractors engaged on assigned lines.
• Manage line changes for packaging transitions.
• Uphold GMP, safety, and audit compliance standards.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision (self-management).
• Document work schedules and completed tasks.
• Respond efficiently to emergencies.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring cleanliness and safety in work areas.
• Identify safety hazards and propose solutions for mitigation.
• Follow all regulations regarding the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Engage in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with relevant ordinances, codes, or laws.
• Record work performance and material procurement as instructed, utilizing the work order system.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel).

EXPERIENCE

• Completion of a relevant technical training program.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance, basic electrical work, and troubleshooting practices.
• At least 2 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a large-scale manufacturing facility.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to seek external resources when necessary.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.

SCHEDULE
