Mechanic Assistant

The Service Center Technician is a key member of our team at SPI LLC, responsible for completing skilled tasks in all operational areas, including maintenance, equipment repairs, and more.
This role requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, ensuring repair items are properly labeled
- Executing scheduled maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing equipment based on demonstrated skill level without supervision
- Cleaning parts and equipment independently
- Preparing rental equipment for use and checking equipment back in upon return per procedures
- Maintaining good housekeeping of the shop and warehouse areas, with attention to the spray booth prior to trainings
- Verifying all shop materials and supplies are available and ready before starting assignments
- Developing the skills necessary to complete tasks successfully without supervision
- Completing tasks scheduled by the Shop Supervisor or his assigned lead
Secondary responsibilities include:
- Backing up freight-related tasks, such as building crates
- Backing up the Delivery driver
Required qualifications include a driver's license and a clean driving record. Preferred qualifications include skilled multi-tradesman experience, knowledge of general mechanics, carpentry, electrical work, and industry-specific equipment.
The successful candidate will be accountable and show initiative in learning and increasing personal knowledge of the business skills needed to run a smooth shop and warehouse operation, while assisting those around them to do the same. They will maintain professionalism, pride in workmanship, and abide by Company Policies.
