Role Summary:
Phoenix Technical Solutions is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to provide essential technical assistance in the production of diesel engines. This role encompasses the development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, along with supporting tooling and process enhancements to ensure the efficient assembly and production of diesel engines and their components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for assembly and testing of medium-speed diesel engines.
- Collaborate with various customer departments to ensure adherence to engineering specifications as established by the Engine Design Engineering Team.
- Lead and coordinate manufacturing projects aimed at achieving cost reductions, enhancing productivity, and improving reliability.
- Engage with all relevant departments and suppliers throughout the design for manufacturing phases, including Process Failure Mode Analysis and Management of Change Process.
- Work closely with factory and process engineering teams to prioritize projects and set implementation timelines.
- Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for component assembly and disassembly processes.
- Support initiatives on the shop floor to boost efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
- Assist in technical evaluations through MRB for the qualification of non-conforming materials for assembly and testing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with technical documentation, including Engineering Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Understanding of general manufacturing processes and business practices.
- Additional knowledge of locomotive systems is advantageous.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent experience in a technical capacity.
