Position Overview: We are in search of an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to act as a key authority on all cybersecurity and IT-related matters within designated projects. The ideal candidate will engage in high-level system architecture design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting. You will be tasked with converting military operational needs into actionable systems concepts and performance criteria. Moreover, you will contribute to program evaluations, design assessments, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) as the cybersecurity expert on assigned initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct high-level system architecture design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Transform military operational requirements into actionable systems concepts and performance specifications.
  • Engage in post-award evaluations, program assessments, design evaluations, and IPTs as the cybersecurity expert on assigned projects.
  • Assess design initiatives from a cybersecurity perspective to ensure the integration of all necessary cybersecurity components and the sufficiency of analyses.
  • Draft and review cybersecurity-related testing strategies, procedures, and reports on technical adequacy for both Government and contractor evaluations, along with associated failure reports.
  • Analyze system performance against cybersecurity-related specifications, monitor and evaluate field performance, and assess the risks of fulfilling user and specification requirements.
  • Formulate and assess cybersecurity strategies for requested projects.
  • Oversee daily certification and accreditation tasks for a project team.
  • Act as a consultant to team members and mentor the workforce on cybersecurity issues.
  • Review cybersecurity products, procedures, and system architectures utilized in previous projects and develop innovative cybersecurity strategies.
  • Identify challenges and inform the Project Manager on potential actions and their implications.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or an equivalent qualification (as determined by the Government).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in operational Cybersecurity accreditation and certification of embedded systems accredited at the Secret level and below.
  • In-depth knowledge of AR 25-2 and the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), including recent experience (within the last 2 years) in obtaining system accreditation using the DoD RMF and the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) software.
  • Extensive experience in preparing recommended IA approvals and supporting documentation, along with a solid understanding of systems engineering processes.
  • Proficient experience in Network Security Architecture.
  • Thorough understanding of DoD standards that guide the development of cybersecurity policies, requirements, integration, engineering, and certification and accreditation.
  • Ability to conduct security analyses and risk/vulnerability assessments.
