Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support and assistance to the adult with developmental needs, including assistance with daily activities, personal care, and mobility.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote independence and meet the unique needs of the adult.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment by maintaining a clean and organized living space, and providing a healthy and balanced diet.
  • Engage in meaningful social and recreational activities with the adult, such as hobbies, outings, and community events.
  • Communicate effectively with the adult, their family, and other caregivers to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the adult's care, including medical information, daily activities, and progress notes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g. special education, nursing) preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with adults with developmental needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform daily tasks and activities.
  • CPR and first aid certifications preferred.
