Residential Counselor

As a Residential Counselor with MAB Community Services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in cluster homes. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality care and support to participants, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work closely with the Residential Coordinator to develop and implement individualized support plans, promoting personal growth and community membership.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct support to participants in cluster homes, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and transportation.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and community partners.
- Collaborate with the Residential Coordinator to ensure a safe and clean home environment, adhering to program policies and procedures.
- Document progress notes, assessments, and other relevant information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and administrative responsibilities, including staff meetings, case reviews, and required training seminars.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with participants, their families, and community professionals.
- Valid MA driver's license and ability to drive program vehicles and wheelchair vans.
- Ability to lift and/or carry lightweight and moderately heavy objects, as well as assist in lifting and transferring participants.
- Comfort with computers and ability to learn new reporting software.
This position requires frequent walking, standing, and driving. You must be able to maintain a high level of energy in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a team setting.
