This is a senior accountant role responsible for ensuring the proper execution of corporate accounting functions, including transactions, entries, reporting, and maintenance, for VWFS. The position requires expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and VW Group Accounting Handbook.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and maintenance of GL PARMS and Defect resolution associated with FIS AutoSuite system.
- Document and test key controls and interfaces of FIS and Oracle.
- Maintain all Oracle accounts related to FIS subledger transactions, working closely with Herndon Financial Reporting to ensure accurate financial position presentation.
- Prepare and process daily/monthly journal entries for IFRS purposes.
- Prepare, reconcile, and review month-end schedules.
- Review month-end schedules developed and submitted by other departments.
- Review month-end journal entries developed by others.
- Review all required system financial reports for accuracy and balancing, making necessary corrections as appropriate.
- Adjust financial reports (statements) as necessary based on self-analysis and direction from Manager.
- Reconcile all assigned accounts.
- Perform and review daily accounting for treasury and cash receipt/disbursement activity.
- Reconcile, research, and resolve outstanding items pertaining to bank reconciliations.
- Research and resolve outstanding issues with VWFS's Remarketing Department, Wholesale, Special Collections, and other departments as required.
- Assist with internal and external audits with regards to control testing, account verifications, external confirmations, and other related projects.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree. Required Experience: 7 years professional accounting and financial reporting experience, 5 years financial reporting experience, 5 years financial services or consumer finance experience, 5 years enterprise software experience (Oracle or SAP), and personal computer financial application knowledge and experience. Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting procedures and principles and their application in a financial services business, assertiveness, self-starter, willingness to learn and apply, process improvement orientation, analytical and conceptual thinking, communication skills, strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, integration, influencing and negotiation skills, problem-solving, and resource management.
