Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent) in anatomy or a related field, with proven experience in teaching these subjects. The role involves collaboration with a team of educators to develop and deliver anatomy content within an integrated educational framework. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering instruction in anatomy, primarily within the pre-clinical curriculum;
  • Creating and preparing educational materials, including presentations and assessments;
  • Maintaining educational resources that align with Osteopathic Principles and Practice;
  • Exhibiting professionalism as defined by the College's standards;
  • Advising and mentoring students, including supporting student research initiatives;
  • Participating in the interviewing process for prospective students;
  • Contributing to departmental and college committees;
  • Engaging in professional development activities;
  • Assisting with accreditation and quality improvement efforts;
  • Fostering a positive culture among students and faculty;
  • Participating in professional organizations to enhance institutional recognition;
  • Taking on academic leadership roles as needed;
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree (PhD, DSc, DO, MD, etc.) in anatomy or a relevant field from an accredited institution;
  • Experience in biomedical sciences education, preferably in a medical school setting;
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship is preferred, though the College may consider sponsorship for exceptional candidates;
  • Maintaining appropriate licensure for healthcare practice;
  • Proficiency in technology applied to educational settings;
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting diverse student backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postdoctoral experience in anatomy;
  • Training in educational theory or evaluation;
  • Proven success as a medical educator;
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods, including team-based learning and problem-based learning;
  • Background in curricular and instructional design;
  • Record of scholarly activity.
