Job Overview

At Eva's Village, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our recovery support services, you will play a vital role in providing peer-to-peer support to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outreach and engagement services to assist clients in accessing prevention, treatment, and recovery support services.
  • Schedule screening and intake appointments, and arrange transportation to appointments as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized recovery plans, including measurable goals and barriers to goal obtainment.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer recovery support groups and workshops, and make phone outreach and check-up calls to members as assigned.
  • Advocate and mentor individuals in their recovery, and assist with securing and maintaining government assistance benefits, social services, and other essential resources.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop life skills, and make referrals to sheltering, transitional, supportive, and permanent housing as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification, or equivalent experience and education in the substance-related disorders field.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment, recovery management, and community resources, including indigenous and community competencies, and confidentiality rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently in community settings, and maintain confidentiality and non-judgmental attitudes towards individuals with substance use or mental health disorders.
