About the Role

Amergis is seeking a skilled Behavioral Classroom Aide to provide behavioral support services in a school setting. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and behavioral assistance/interventions to assigned students, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist students with daily activities, including classroom participation, grooming, meal preparation, and toileting.
  • Support students with ambulation and transfer services, ensuring their mobility and independence.
  • Manage assault/difficult behavior and implement crisis intervention strategies to de-escalate situations.
  • Encourage independence and self-advocacy in students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Maintain student safety and well-being, adhering to Amergis policies and procedures.
  • Implement behavioral plans and make adjustments as needed, in collaboration with the student's care team.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in behavioral studies or a related field preferred.
  • Full command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Current Health Certificate (if applicable), CPR card, and TB Skin test or Chest X-ray.
  • Successful completion of Amergis' testing process.
