Job Summary

NatureBridge is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our historic buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings and grounds, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, masonry, and painting.
  • Custodial Duties: Maintain campus cleanliness and perform custodial duties as required to meet the needs of the department.
  • Training and Development: Help train new staff in safety procedures, repair projects, and maintenance.
  • Workshop and Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workshop and work area.
  • Recommendations and Solutions: Recommend long and short-term maintenance, repairs, safety priorities, and solutions to the Facilities Director.
  • Overtime and Weekends: Work overtime or weekends as requested by the Facilities Director.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Promote a sense of support and team effort, and attend and participate in weekly shop meetings and safety trainings.
  • Historic Preservation: Recognize the historic character and value of the campus while performing work assignments and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience in maintaining buildings and grounds.
  • Skills: Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, masonry, and painting.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Ability to work well with other staff, National Park Service employees, program participants, and visiting public.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Flexible, positive attitude, good judgment, and safety consciousness.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more).
  • Driver's License: Current California driver's license and clear driving record.
