Your role will significantly impact our risk management strategies by effectively handling claims, managing the workers' compensation program, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Essential Qualifications:
- A degree in risk management, business, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in claims administration, ideally within the transportation or logistics sector.
- Expertise in claims litigation, negotiation, and settlement procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial vehicle insurance policies.
- Demonstrated negotiation capabilities with the ability to efficiently resolve and finalize claims.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive stance on risk management.
- Knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations is advantageous.
Primary Duties:
- Manage the processing of property damage, bodily injury, workers' compensation, and cargo claims, including all aspects of communication, documentation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution.
- Act as the main liaison for independent adjusters, third-party administrators (TPAs), claimants, and legal representatives to ensure proper claim settlements.
- Proactively work towards resolving claims to minimize exposure, costs, and liabilities for the organization.
- Engage in investigations of vehicle accidents and workplace injuries, providing insights on causation and prevention.
- Maintain meticulous and organized records for all claims, ensuring all documentation and timesheets are accurately filed.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to facilitate the prompt return of injured drivers to work and oversee light-duty initiatives.
- Keep OSHA logs updated and manage reporting related to workplace incidents.
- Assist operational teams in enhancing driver safety performance, preventing injuries and accidents, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations.
- Oversee the insurance management process for independent contractors, ensuring appropriate coverage, managing deductions, and handling contract obligations.
