Job Title:
Quality Inspector

Job Overview:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required standards of quality and safety. This role involves direct reporting to the QA Supervisor/Manager and may include training opportunities across various levels of inspection. The inspector will engage in visual and test inspections and may assist in different departments as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Visual Inspection Criteria, engine and locomotive components, and testing equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products, both inbound and outbound, documenting any defects and managing buybacks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the Blue Flag Policy.
  • Utilize Traveler's and Quality Work Instructions (QWI's) effectively.
  • Employ the AIMS (Action Item Maintenance System) for process audits and corrective actions.

Qualifications:
  • Skill Level I – 0-1 years of experience without technical education.
  • Skill Level II – 1-2 years of experience or Technical Certifications.
  • Skill Level III – 2+ years of experience.
  • High School Education or GED is required.

Essential Skills:
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent walking and sustained bending, crouching, and climbing are required.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and respond to audible alarms.
  • Work environment includes varied surfaces and heights, often in non-temperature controlled conditions.
