Adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medical Technologies

San Joaquin Delta College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medical Technologies to join our team. The successful candidate will provide instruction in emergency medical technologies, including EMT and paramedic courses.
Responsibilities:- Teach emergency medical technologies courses, including EMT and paramedic programs.
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the educational requirements of the courses.
- Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students.
- Participate in departmental and college-wide committees to promote student equity and success.
- Maintain currency in the field of emergency medical technologies.
- Perform other duties as specified in the faculty contract and outlined in Board Policy.
- Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in emergency medical technologies, or associate degree and six years of professional experience in emergency medical technologies, or master's degree and professional experience in emergency medical technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different student abilities, learning styles, cultures, and groups.
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a variety of settings, including online and large lectures.
- Clinical experience in emergency medical care, including EMT or paramedic.
- Valid Physician, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Paramedic license in the State of California and minimum two years of academic or clinical experience in emergency medicine or pre-hospital care in the last five years.
Effective July 1, 2016, adjunct faculty maximum initial placement on the Hourly Salary Schedule shall be step 5 (initial salary placement plus 4 years of teaching/relevant experience) of the appropriate class (SJCTA Union Contract: Article XVIII 18.7; Appendix A-2).
