Position Title: Warehouse Forklift Specialist
Role Summary: As a Warehouse Forklift Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include assisting on various production lines as needed, efficiently loading packaged products onto transport vehicles, and unloading shipments as required. You will also be tasked with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, work surfaces, and other designated areas.
Compensation Structure: Starting pay is set at $18/hour during the initial evaluation period. Following this period, compensation will increase to $19.38/hour. After six months, the pay will rise to $21.80/hour, and after one year, it will reach $24.22/hour. The aim is to transition you into a permanent position within a few weeks, with union membership eligibility beginning shortly after the initial period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a sit-down forklift to transport two pallets simultaneously using a hydraulic system.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently.
- Ensure equipment and work areas are sanitized and organized.
Essential Skills:
- Hard Skills: Proficient in forklift operation, loading and unloading trailers, equipment sanitation, and pallet management.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, reliability, ability to work collaboratively, and adaptability to changing tasks.
Employment Type: This position is classified as Contract-to-Hire, with an expected duration of 30 days.
Work Environment: This role is fully on-site and involves operating a forklift throughout the entire shift. The workplace is an industrial, climate-controlled facility.
