As a member of our Therapy Team, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will participate in the Interdisciplinary team process, provide teaching and training to caregiver staff, and be involved in clinical program development. You will also supervise other licensed therapists, assistants, technicians, aides, and students as required.

**Essential Job Functions:**

* Evaluate, diagnose, and treat cognitive, swallowing, speech, and language disorders or communication efficiencies following MD orders.
* Conduct assessments and screens to determine therapy needs. Enter in the system Plan of Care that meets resident's needs.
* Develop and provide Caregiver Training to current staff.
* Maintain timely and accurate documentation and enter information into the system.
* Perform Resident's screening during the admission process, quarterly, and annual screening to determine the need for therapy.

**Essential Qualifications:**

* Education and/or Experience: Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology and Professional Licensure where required by state law; two years clinical experience preferred.
* Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes effective time management skills. Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers. Strong oral and written communication skills.

**Physical and Environmental Requirements:**

* The physical activities of this position involve balancing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, pulling, standing, manual dexterity, pushing, stooping, grasping, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
* Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are feeling, seeing, smelling, hearing, and speaking.
* An individual in this position will be exposed to inside/outside environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, and respiratory pathogens.
* Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
