Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Florida Department of Health in Osceola. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide professional nursing services in a public health setting, working under the direct supervision of a Community Health Nursing Supervisor.

Your responsibilities will include providing care and treatment to clients, assessing client health status, documenting client information in electronic health records, assisting providers with clinic sessions, and maintaining medical records. You will also be responsible for initiating client care and follow-up referrals as appropriate, accurately documenting all interactions, and performing telephonic and walk-in triage as necessary.

You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, assist with timely return calls to clients and providers, and help maintain clinic flow. Additionally, you will issue medications and vaccines, take vital signs, obtain medical history, assist with inventory management, prepare medication orders, and coordinate preparation of examination/treatment rooms and equipment.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques, including human anatomy and physiology. They will also have the ability to administer prescribed medications, provide direct patient care and treatment, and work with patients having a variety of physical problems.

We offer a competitive salary of $23,071 per year, based on a biweekly salary of $1,093.36, plus annual and sick leave benefits, nine paid holidays, and one Personal Holiday each year. To qualify for this position, you must have a Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Florida or a multistate license, a valid Florida Driver's License, and at least one year of experience in primary care, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV health, hospital settings, or outpatient clinical settings. Preferred qualifications include recent experience as a Registered Nurse, bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency, and experience providing immunizations.
