Job Overview

OakVet Animal Specialty Hospital, a premier multi-specialty and 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital, is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Surgery Department. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside Board-Certified Specialists, Emergency Veterinarians, and other veterinary professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surgical procedures, including anesthesia planning and patient monitoring
  • Perform advanced life support and CPR under the supervision of a veterinarian
  • Conduct preoperative and postoperative care, including patient assessment and treatment
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements:

  • Valid California RVT license
  • At least one year of experience in anesthesia
  • Safe animal handling and restraint
  • IV catheter placement and venipuncture
  • Ability to calculate drug doses and maintain an appropriate level of sedation or anesthesia

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ezyVet and Smart Flow
  • Efficient time management and diplomatic communication skills
