Facility Operations Support Specialist

Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to deliver technical assistance for all functions related to asset management associated with the Facility Management Software System (FMSS), the Facility Condition Assessment System (FCAS), and the Cost Estimating Software System (CESS). Additionally, the position involves contributing to the development and implementation of long-term strategies for effective facility management.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various databases (budget, maintenance requests, asset management, and procurement logs) to generate management reports.
  • Act as a liaison for Facility Management and Utilities Management.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for human resources pertaining to facility personnel and provide relevant information to facility staff.
  • Facilitate the procurement of supplies, services, and specialized items.
  • Maintain essential records and monitor purchases.

Note: Duties may be developmental in nature when the position is filled below the full performance level.

Employment Conditions

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Appointment is contingent upon a background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Must comply with the Selective Service Registration Act for males.
  • Direct Deposit: Participation in the Direct Deposit Electronic Funds Transfer Program is mandatory.
  • Driving Requirements: You may be required to operate a government or private vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first operation of a motor vehicle, you will need to certify your possession of a valid state-issued driver's license and submit a photocopy of it.
  • Probationary Period: New employees or supervisors in the Federal government must complete a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Credit will be given for all relevant experience. To receive credit, your resume must clearly outline the nature of your duties and responsibilities for each position held, including the duration of employment.

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in federal service, involving clerical or office work that has equipped you with the necessary skills for this role.
  • Education: Completion of four years of education beyond high school from an accredited institution.
  • Combination: An equivalent combination of specialized experience and education totaling 100 percent.

To qualify at the GS-06 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level, including administrative support in at least three of the following areas: maintenance work orders, travel, budget, property, purchasing, and human resources.

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level, providing technical and administrative support in all the specified areas.

Volunteer Experience: Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer activities that build critical competencies and skills relevant to this position.

Education: If qualifying based on education, you must submit a copy of your transcripts.
