Computed Tomography Technologist

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic images.

Responsibilities:
  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Operate CT scanners to obtain high-quality images, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast media as needed, following proper injection procedures and safety protocols.
  • Transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and verify their accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other duties as required, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment and assisting with new employee and student training.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months of employment.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligibility.
  • Advanced certification in CT within one year of employment.
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
