Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Monitor Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a Monitor Technician, you will play a vital role in promoting and restoring patients' health through supervised nursing care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Teamwork: Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams and resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
  • Compliance: Active participation in hospital strategic initiatives such as quality improvement and monitoring TJC compliance.
  • Monitoring: Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
  • Documentation: Ability to assess and document evaluation and re-evaluation of patient status.
  • Patient Observation: Observe patients to ensure their safety and well-being, report observations to the nurse or appropriate designee, and assist patients and family members with any needs and questions within established parameters.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or GED Equivalent, Training, and Education specialization: MA or PCT or CNA or DD214 or 2 sem nurs schl or UNMH Tech.
  • Experience: No minimum experience required, but 1 year of recent experience directly related to the field is preferred.
  • Credentials: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days, Basic Arrhythmia Cert or equivalent w/in 6 mos of position.
Working Conditions

Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

May be exposed to infectious agents/blood-borne pathogens.
