Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist

As a Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist at connectRN Inc, you will play a vital role in the recovery journey of patients in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Under the supervision of RNs, you will implement treatment plans and assist with rehabilitation activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
Your responsibilities will include administering medication, monitoring patients' progress, collaborating with the healthcare team, and implementing nursing interventions under RN supervision and updating care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and perform venipuncture and IV therapy.
- Monitor patients' physical and psychosocial needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Communicate and document care provided to the healthcare team.
- Insert, monitor, and maintain NG tubes, urinary caths, etc.
- Assist physicians with exams and dressing changes.
- Assist with discharge instructions for patients and families.
- Ensure a safe environment using Infection Control and safety policies.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
- Perform shift assessments and report variations to RN.
- Give and receive patient reports.
Requirements:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Virginia or eligible compact state licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Rehab or Medical-Surgical setting.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and clinical priorities.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
