Cytotechnologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez, CA. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in examining smears of tissue for abnormalities of cell matter and screening to identify atypical cells.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and processing specimen material and slides from wards and clinics
  • Examining smears of tissue for abnormalities of cell matter and screening to identify atypical cells
  • Assisting physicians in the preparation of slides for specialized procedures
  • Documenting slide interpretation results and contacting other cytological labs as needed
Requirements:
  • Valid license as a Cytotechnologist issued by the State of California Department of Health
  • Two years of full-time experience in a clinical laboratory performing cytological tests and analyses
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
