Senior Cytotechnologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cytotechnologist to join our team at Contra Costa County, CA. As a Senior Cytotechnologist, you will be responsible for performing cytologic tests and analysis, evaluating specimens microscopically, and providing interpretation for gynecologic and non-gynecological specimens.

• Schedule preventative maintenance for all instruments.
• Evaluate specimens microscopically for aberrant and atypical cellular features.
• Perform various Anatomic Pathology procedures and resulting patient samples in Laboratory information systems.
• Revise cytopathology manuals and procedures.
• Collect data for cytology quality control and maintaining quality assurance records.
• Provide interpretation for gynecologic and non-gynecological specimens.
• Perform molecular testing for Human Papillomavirus.

• Valid License as a Cytotechnologist issued by the State of California Department of Health.
• Three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent experience in a laboratory performing cytologic tests and analysis.
• Experience with molecular testing such as HPV on automated platforms.
• Experience with on-site specimen adequacy for fine needle aspirations.
• Experience processing non-gynecological and gynecological specimens.
