Key Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients and preparing them for examinations
- Monitoring and recording vital signs
- Assisting healthcare providers during procedures
- Supporting clinic operations by adhering to provider-specific protocols
- Primarily responsible for back-office tasks while also assisting with front-office duties as required
- Ensuring a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Facilitating patient care services that enhance the physician's practice
- Communicating instructions from the physician to patients or authorized individuals
- Gathering patient information both in-person and via phone
- Documenting patient inquiries, messages, and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review
- Administering medications as directed by the physician
- Coordinating appointments and procedures
- Taking accurate messages and routing them appropriately
- Managing order and referral entries
- Obtaining necessary pre-certifications
- Setting up cases in the electronic health record system
- Performing basic registration and updating patient demographics
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, Medical Assistance Certification, or at least two years of experience as a military corpsman
Certification Requirements:
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient environment
- Prior experience in Orthopedic Surgery is advantageous
