Position Purpose

The Medical Waste Route Driver is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical waste to processing facilities. This position requires a high level of customer service, as drivers interact with clients on a daily basis to ensure their waste is collected and disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate collection of medical waste
  • Transport waste from customer locations to processing facilities, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Plan daily schedules based on customer needs, reviewing daily paperwork and following routing software route schedules
  • Prepare and load trucks for service, ensuring sufficient supplies are added
  • Unload trucks at various Stericycle and customer sites, securing waste and ensuring proper disposal
  • Provide exceptional customer service, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager or Dispatcher for resolution
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and returned to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
